Per new allegations from a whistleblower, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, now completing a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided information indicating Maxwell is working on the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, declared in a news release that the facility's chief was assisting Maxwell with document preparation and submission to support her bid for clemency.

The exact content of the clemency request remain unclear, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the supervisor has individually organized private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

These meetings allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and chance of unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when communications failed for other prisoners, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to call and how staff would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she reportedly employed the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to the inmate, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Reported

Further perks allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Recently, reports surfaced that Maxwell told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, she was transferred from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own connections to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

In the news release, Raskin also revealed that he had sent a letter to the President, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with puppies to play with, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to the President.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to arrange her with the move or special conditions in prison, and whether she, her attorneys, family or agents have made any commitments to the President or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by 24 November.

In October, the nation's highest court rejected an petition from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
