Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a significant and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the United States has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted debris fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
